What is going on ...
I just got back from a trip to the Carolinas and Florida, USA to visit my now 12 year old son Jonathan for five weeks in November and December of 2011. Jonathan was living full time at the Jimmy Weinert motocross training facility at South of the Border in South Carolina where I spend a week with him. On our way to Gainesville Florida where Jonathan was to participate at the motocross Winter Olympics we picked up his Honda CRF150R race bike at the Adams Performance facility north of Charlotte North Carolina. Before hitting the Gatorback track in Gainesville Florida we spend four days at the local mx track in Lake City Florida where I met up with cave divers Dan Lins and Wody Jasper to catch up on what's new.
Once in Gainesville Florida at the Winter Olimpics the pace picked up and the racing began in hearnest at the motocross and supercross events. I managed to squeeze time in to see my old cave and deep diving buddy Andrew Pitkin in Gainesville though. After the races we went up north to the new Jimmy Weinert Training Facility at the Cristal Coast mx track in North Carolina. Here I met up with petite and fierce combat nurse Zay who was living in Playa long time ago. All in all I spend five weeks with Jonathan being his grease monkey and cook :). What a great time we had. Awesome.
What happend ...
In August and September 2011 I went on a trip to Germany and Egypt. My Mom Christa invited me to go with her to the Red Sea for some diving. We extended the trip with the addition of my brother Robert visiting Luxor first with visits to the Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings plus some sailing on the Nile. Then we went to Aswan for some more boating on the Nile and a visit to the Abu Simble Temple.
My brother went home, Mom and me went on to the Red Sea resort at Lahami Bay for 12 days of awesome diving where my Mom completed her 400th dive at age 70. The week before the Egypt trip and the week after the Egypt trip I spend in Germany visiting my Mom, Dad, a Niece, my brother and friends in Berlin where I went to se a punk rock concert and to the horse race track in Hoppegarten. A late summer gave us good weather to burn some rubber on my brothers bikes too, I think I put some 650 kilometers on my brothers BMW GS 800 ...
