Painting and Photography

I do not paint in the sense of painting a painting but rather paint onto photos. I manufactured a number of photography pieces that are based on analog or digital photos of mine, then painted onto and over them. Some of the images where sealed by lamination process. Some of the digital images used I have digitally altered prior printing.
Art workshop June - July 2009
To educate myself and learn new techniques I went in June and July of 2009 to New York City to visit my old Playa del Carmen room mate Daniel Dens who is living and working as an artist in Brooklyn. Always on the way to learn something new I did a workshop with Daniel to learn his techniques in pop art silk screening and digital photography post capture work.

I am very greatfull to Daniel who showed me in great detail how his art work is done and created, and then let me do it myself. Maia, Daniels wife is a working photographer who took the time to educate me in the after capture digital computer processing and touch up work.
Art workshop August 2009
To further educate myself and learn new techniques I went to Sayulita on the Pacific coast to participate in yet another art workshop with Janine in her gallery and studio JaLu. I am very greatfull to Janine to open her studio to me in the form of the workshop, allowing me to look over her shoulder and learning her techniques in great detail.

What can I say, I learned a lot. Janine is working primarily with glas as carrier medium, transfering photography and using papers to create some very cool stuff.
