Travel in Europe

Germany in the country side, driving down the road

Being born in Wolfsburg, Germany located in northern Germany, the very heart of Europe made it natural to travel within Germany and Europe extensivly.

I do remember the border crossings from West Germany to East Germany when I was still a child, the border crossings from France to Spain to Portugal with the need to change money at one border or another. This is all gone, making it easy to travel in a united Europe with the establishment of the European Union as well as the monetary union with the Euro.

The countries I visited in Europe on various and multiple occacions over a period of three decades are:

Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Czeck Republic, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Eastern block countries I visited before the breakup of the Eastern block where:

East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Poland.

Luzern, Switzerland, August 2008

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, July 2008
